Collin Casad

From a young age, Collin Casad admired his older brother Nick — not just as a sibling, but as a role model. Nick’s energy, kindness, and selflessness left a lasting impression. Even after Nick’s untimely passing in a tragic car accident at the age of 20, Collin continues to live in a way that reflects the values his brother stood for.

Today, Collin serves as the team manager for Indiana University Wrestling, a role he embraces with dedication and heart. Every step he takes, on the mats and in life, is driven by a deep desire to honor Nick’s legacy.

One of the most powerful parts of that legacy is Nick’s decision to become an organ donor.

“I remember being at the license branch with him when they asked if he wanted to be a donor,” Collin recalls. “Without hesitation, he said yes. When it was my turn, I didn’t think twice. I checked the box, too.”

Older brothers have that effect sometimes.

That simple act of Nick’s “yes” has become a profound source of healing and purpose for Collin and his family. Through Indiana Donor Network, Collin has shared how his brother’s choice brought hope, even in the darkest moments of grief. “I could have never imagined being in this position,” Collin says, “but knowing that Nick chose to give life to others has inspired me to share our story and educate others about organ donation.”

After this experience, Collin is now pursuing a future in healthcare. His dream is to earn a doctorate in physical therapy, helping athletes recover and thrive. But Collin’s vision goes beyond clinical care — he’s also committed to using his voice to advocate for the power of organ donation.

“My goal is to help people heal—physically and emotionally,” he says. “Whether it’s on the wrestling team, in a clinic, or through conversations about donation, I want to be a source of strength and hope for others.”

Collin Casad is living proof that even in loss, we can choose light. Through resilience, love and a deep sense of purpose, he is not only carrying on his brother’s legacy — he’s creating his own.
