Allan Halliburton

Allan Halliburton knows what it’s like to face the darkest days. And now, he’s using those hard-earned lessons to light the way for others.
A veteran, athlete and father of four, Halliburton found himself battling a far more personal war — one that left him breathless, swollen, and isolated. At his lowest point, he questioned whether his children would be better off without him. He said, “I felt the worst of my life.”
But that was before the gift. Before the transplant that gave him not just a new kidney and pancreas, but a new future.
On May 1, 2024, Halliburton received that life-changing transplant at IU Health.
His life before his transplant was marked by setbacks. After playing football at Bishop Chatard High School and Thomas More College, Halliburton’s athletic dreams were cut short by a concussion. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army, completing a tour in Iraq from 2006–2007. But his second deployment ended abruptly when his vehicle hit an underground bomb. The blast left him with traumatic brain injuries, and he earned a Purple Heart for his service.
Returning home was not the relief it should have been. At just 28, Halliburton was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was hospitalized and quarantined for 45 days, struggling with renal failure.
“I was always active and healthy,” he said. “And then I wasn’t.”
But Allan is not one to stay down. And after receiving his transplant, he made a promise: “I’ll help anyone who crosses my path.”
He’s kept that promise. Today, Halliburton is a mentor, a coach and a passionate advocate for organ donation. He founded The Phoenix Wellness Empire, where he helps athletes and others rebuild from the inside out — changing destructive habits and strengthening emotional, physical and nutritional health. He dreams of expanding his work to support transplant patients, walking with them as they navigate their own rebirth.
Hope, for Halliburton, isn’t just something he found for himself — it’s something that he is determined to give others. Through his story, he’s opening hearts to the transformative power of organ donation, especially in communities that have long held deep mistrust of the healthcare system.
Allan Haliburton’s story isn’t just about survival. It’s about renewal, trust and the healing power of generosity. Allan is living proof that when one life ends and a gift is given, another life can begin again — stronger, brighter and filled with purpose.
