We along with Indiana Donor Network are pleased to announce that Justin Langford will represent Indiana donor heroes and their families as a 2019 floragraph honoree on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float in the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day.
Whether through music, kind words or wise counsel beyond his years, Justin David Langford had a special way of making people feel understood and valued. He found joy, his family recalls, engaging with those around him, and with a remarkable ease befriended people of all ages and walks of life. His generous spirit was evident in countless ways throughout his 23 years, including his decision to register as an organ donor.
When Justin died as the result of an on-the-job traffic accident in May 2014, his gift of organ donation saved the lives of five people, including a two-year-old boy.  Justin also enhanced more than 22 lives through his gift of tissue and cornea donation.
The Donate Life Rose Parade Float is the world’s most visible campaign to inspire organ, tissue and eye donation. Donors and families honored with floragraphs have been the subject of hundreds of news stories, capturing the families’ meaningful participation in the Rose Parade. Together with Donate Life float riders, the floragraphs are the centerpiece of the national media campaign to raise awareness about the lifesaving impact of organ tissue and eye donation and transplantation.
A floragraph (pictured above) is a portrait of a deceased organ, tissue or eye donor created with organic materials such as spices, seeds and flowers.
